QuickBooks COGS and Inventory Valuation Sync Is Here
Craftybase now syncs your Cost of Goods Sold and inventory valuations directly to QuickBooks Online. No more manual journal entries or month-end scrambles — your books stay accurate automatically.
A few weeks ago, we launched QuickBooks PO Sync — a simple way to export your Purchase Orders from Craftybase to QuickBooks Online. It was the first piece of a bigger puzzle.
Today, we’re shipping the next piece: QuickBooks COGS and Inventory Valuation Sync.
What’s New
If you’re on our Growth plan, you can now push two critical numbers directly from Craftybase to QuickBooks Online:
- Cost of Goods Sold (COGS) — the true cost of everything you sold in a period
- Inventory Valuations — the current value of your raw materials and finished goods
These sync as journal entries, mapped to your chart of accounts. Your accountant gets the numbers they need. You skip the manual data entry.
Why This Matters
Here’s the problem we kept hearing from makers:
“I spend hours at month-end copying numbers from Craftybase into QuickBooks. It’s tedious, error-prone, and I dread it.”
Craftybase already calculates your COGS and inventory values with precision — factoring in material costs, labor, overhead, and weighted averages. But getting those numbers into QuickBooks meant manual journal entries or clunky spreadsheet exports.
Not anymore.
With QuickBooks Inventory Sync, the numbers flow automatically. Set up your account mappings once, then sync whenever you’re ready — monthly, quarterly, or whenever your accountant asks.
How It Works
- Connect QuickBooks Online — authorize Craftybase to sync with your QuickBooks account (same connection you may have set up for PO Sync)
- Map your accounts — tell us which QuickBooks accounts to use for COGS, inventory assets, and adjustments
- Sync — push your COGS and inventory valuations to QuickBooks with one click
The journal entries land in QuickBooks ready for your accountant to review. Full audit trail, accurate to the penny.
Built on the Same Foundation
This feature builds on the same philosophy as PO Sync: do one thing really well.
We’re not trying to replace QuickBooks. We’re bridging the gap between operational inventory management (what Craftybase does) and financial accounting (what QuickBooks does). You get the best of both without the manual work in between.
What’s Next
We’re continuing to expand what syncs between Craftybase and QuickBooks based on what you tell us you need. If there’s a workflow that would save you time, let us know.
For now, if you’ve been manually entering COGS or inventory values into QuickBooks, this one’s for you.
QuickBooks Inventory Sync is available today on all Growth plans.
