Why We Started With QuickBooks Lite (and What’s Coming Next)

Learn why Craftybase launched QuickBooks Lite first — a lightweight, time-saving way for product-based brands to export POs directly to QuickBooks, and the foundation for deeper integration to come.

At Craftybase, we build for product-based brands who make things with their hands — and run things with their hearts.

We know your time is split between orders, inventory, production, and the endless task of keeping everything (and everyone) in sync. So when we decided to build QuickBooks integration, we asked ourselves one simple question:

👉 How can we save you time without adding complexity?

That question became our compass — and the answer became QuickBooks Lite.

Why We Started With “Lite”

QuickBooks Lite is a simple, reliable way to export your Purchase Orders directly into QuickBooks. No spreadsheets, no setup gymnastics, no late-night number wrangling.

It’s not a half-step or a placeholder — it’s the most practical first step.

We designed it to handle the most common (and most tedious) accounting task our makers told us about: getting purchase data from Craftybase into QuickBooks without double entry.

Because let’s face it — no one started a business to spend their day pecking numbers into a form or copy-pasting line items from one system to another.

QuickBooks Lite does one job really well: it gets your purchasing data where it needs to go, quickly and cleanly.

And because it’s lightweight, we can make it available on all plans, not just the higher ones.

Built to Save You Time (and a Little Bit of Sanity)

We’ve seen how much time product-based brands lose to manual bookkeeping tasks that don’t add value. QuickBooks Lite is our way of giving a little of that time back. A few clicks, a clean export, and you’re done. That’s it. No training, no setup wizard, no new workflow to memorize. It’s a small improvement that we think will make a big difference — the kind that frees you up to focus on the parts of your business that actually grow your business.

A Foundation for What’s Next

QuickBooks Lite is just the beginning. We’re already deep into the next stages of integration — things like:

  • Automatic COGS syncing
  • Inventory valuation
  • More advanced data flow between Craftybase and QuickBooks

We’re building each layer thoughtfully, learning from real users, and making sure every step solves a real problem (not just ticks a box on a feature list).

Because our goal isn’t to add features for the sake of it — it’s to build the right things, in the right order, for real businesses like yours.

Your Feedback Shapes What’s Next

We want to hear from you.

If you’ve tried QuickBooks Lite, tell us how it’s going — what’s working, what’s missing, and what would make your life easier.

Your feedback doesn’t just get read; it literally shapes what we build next.
